As GTD is regularly featured in ATPM, I decided to give GTD, the book, a try. I think it helps if one’s mind is open to ideas while reading about GTD. My mind was not open, and I could not finish the book. I was convinced that the way things work in the typical corporation, one can be efficient only so much. At some point, the amount of work is just too overwhelming. A bad economy leads to job cuts, the remaining staff takes up the slack, all the while facing competition from cheaper labor elsewhere thanks to the global economy. The more load you complete, the more will be piled upon you. There usually is some surprise lurking around the corner.
